Adoption Welcome Home Infant/Parent Support Group
Babies learn through their senses. As a parent you will join them! Learn to hold, comfort, rock ,sing, coo and attend to the unique needs and non-verbal cues of your special baby! By creating a healthy secure pattern of bonding you can interrupt developmental delays and unhealthy learned patterns from past neglect, trauma and insecure caretaking.
The class, a 6-week commitment for both baby and parent(s), includes:
- infant massage communication techniques
- ways to address developmental delays
- general infant care
- stress reduction for parents
- discussion of adoption sensitivities and related topics
- professional and peer support
- networking with other adoptive parents
This group is designed to be a cost effective, enjoyable and successful way to provide pro-active or early intervention support to you and your baby. Babies need to be 2 weeks to pre-crawling. Classes are small (6 babies maximum) so that individual attention can be given.

Surviving and Thriving: a support group for adoptive parents of children of all ages
Are you an adoptive parent who is needing support, acknowledgment, encouragement, suggestions, and information of how to help your child with their socio-emotional development and transforming 'difficult’ behaviors?
Come join a group of other adoptive parents, and be nourished and recharged with a lot of good information and resources.

About the Instructor
Cherry Jones has worked for 30 years as a somatic and family therapist and for 10 years with foster/adopt children and their families. She is a Certified adoption specialist and 0-5 years early childhood intervention specialist, and teaches newborn parenting and infant massage communication classes at UCSF and other locations in the Bay Area. Since adopting her daughter from China in 2001, Cherry as dedicated herself to supporting and working with foster/adopt children and their parents.
